By Alex Sullivan, Founder & CEO, Modern American Advisor
Our Private Members Club brings a personal ambition to life: helping our readers build stronger relationships through exceptional access, shared experiences and a community worth belonging to.
There was a moment during our recent visit to Tiffany & Co.’s Landmark in New York when I looked around at our members and their guests and felt enormously proud of what we were creating.
Advisors were spending time with their clients. People who had only just met were finding things in common. We were being welcomed into an extraordinary setting, meeting remarkable craftspeople and enjoying an experience we would remember long after the afternoon had ended.
For me, it captured exactly where I want to take Modern American Advisor.
I believe a publication should earn a meaningful place in its readers’ lives. That starts with thoughtful journalism, beautiful design and ideas worth spending time with. It can also extend into the people you meet, the opportunities you discover and the experiences you are able to share.
That is why we created the Modern American Advisor Private Members Club.
Giving our readers something exceptional to share
The thinking behind the Club is personal and straightforward. Across our readership, contributors and wider network, we have an extraordinary collection of people, expertise and relationships. I want to put those connections to work for our members.
For an advisor, that might mean an introduction that opens a new conversation. It might be time with someone who can help you think differently about your business. Or it might be the opportunity to invite an important client to an experience they would be unlikely to arrange themselves.
That last point matters particularly to me.
You work hard to earn your clients’ trust. Giving them an exceptional experience creates another opportunity to strengthen that relationship: time together, a shared interest and a memory that belongs to both of you.
Our visit to Tiffany’s was a wonderful example.
Inside Tiffany’s
We brought a small group of members and selected clients into The Landmark on Fifth Avenue for a privately guided visit.
We explored the Audrey Experience and Tiffany’s connection with Breakfast at Tiffany’s. We stepped inside working craft rooms and watched specialists at their benches. Seeing that skill at close quarters gave us an appreciation of the care behind the finished pieces.
There was sporting history, too. We viewed the US Open singles trophies and the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and I had the pleasure of meeting Tiffany & Co. Master Engraver Timothy Murphy.
The experience continued in the eighth-floor Gallery and Terrace, where we also met former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber.

It was a privilege to be there. My thanks go to the Tiffany team for their welcome, and to Kathryn Ficarra for the work she puts into developing the Club and bringing people together.
What pleased me most was seeing our members enjoying the experience with their guests. The setting gave everyone something to talk about. There was time to ask questions, get to know one another and continue conversations without rushing to the next appointment.
That is precisely the kind of value I want us to create.
A community with a purpose
As Modern American Advisor grows, I want our readers to feel that they belong to something they can participate in.
We are bringing together advisors, business owners, industry leaders and people with experience worth sharing. There is enormous potential in that community: to exchange ideas, support one another’s ambitions and build relationships across businesses and cities.
We also want members to benefit from practical expertise. That includes conversations about growth, leadership and client engagement with people such as Derrick Kinney, alongside the wider knowledge and experience within the MAA community.
The Club brings those opportunities together with our print publication, a complimentary 12-month FoundersCard membership and access to a growing program of member experiences.
The common thread is usefulness. I want members to feel that their involvement enriches their professional lives and gives them something valuable to share with others.

What we are building next
Tiffany’s offers a glimpse of the ambition.
We are developing ideas for gatherings in Seattle, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, alongside further opportunities in New York. The experiences we are exploring range from private dinners at exceptional restaurants to a Nasdaq lunch, intimate discussions with business leaders and conversations with inspiring figures from finance, sport and entertainment.
I want a program with variety and personality. An evening might give you a fresh perspective on your business. Another might introduce you to someone you have long wanted to meet. Another could be an occasion to bring a client and enjoy something special together.
We will share the individual venues, dates and arrangements as they are confirmed. Each experience will have its own format and guest availability.
What I can share now is the purpose behind it all: to use the reach and relationships of Modern American Advisor to open doors for our readers.
An invitation from me
I am proud of what we have started, and excited about where we can take it.
Our afternoon at Tiffany’s made that ambition tangible. It brought our publication, our people and our community together in a way that felt distinctly Modern American Advisor.
If you would value exceptional experiences, thoughtful introductions and more opportunities to spend meaningful time with clients and peers, I would love you to join us.
There is much more to come. Become part of the Club now, and be part of the next chapter as it takes shape.
